The upgrading and maintenance of the Ayia Napa to Cavo Greco cycle path, a total length of 9km, is expected to be completed by the end of January or early February 2018.

According to an announcement from the Municipality of Ayia Napa, the works were started on 27th December 2017 by the construction company ANC Waterproofing Industry Ltd at a cost of €500 thousand euro, supervision of the project was undertaken by the Department of Public Works.

So far the old surface has been removed along its entire length and asphalt coating has begun.

Upon completion of the stage above there will be new road markings & bicycle symbols added, plus new posts and signposts installed to enable users to move easily and safely.

The reconstruction of the cycle path is being completed to European specifications which will ensure it is a modern cycle track.

The project is one of those announced by the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades during his visit to the Famagusta District last September, the announcement concludes.
