easyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou announced on Tuesday that he will be rewarding bicommunal entrepreneur teams in Cyprus in order to promote peace on the island.
Haji-Ioannou, through his Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, has pledged €200,000 in total, with the total amount to be divided among ten teams of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot entrepreneurs for starting a business with one another. The cash rewards will be handed out in April of this year.
